About Our Home

Learn about us
We pride ourselves on the quality of care we offer

Nearly all our bedrooms are en-suite and are decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard, subtly incorporating technology and dementia friendly features. Residents are welcome to bring their own furniture, pictures and ornaments to help make their new room feel more familiar.

Family and visitors are welcome to visit at any time and we encourage you to take part in our activities and events with your loved one.

Our qualified and experienced staff provide round the clock care to cope with all our residents' needs

We encourage and support our staff to take extra training, whether that is vocational training (NVQs) or specialised aspects of care. We have experience in specialist areas such as palliative care, epilepsy, head/brain injuries, Huntingdon’s disease, Motor Neurone disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, strokes, visual, hearing and speech impairment.

Residents encouraged to use our extra services

We encourage our residents to take advantage of our visiting chiropodist, optician, dentist, hairdresser or speech therapist as needed. For those looking for a little relaxation, we offer beneficial aromatherapy and massage therapies.

Our large, beautifully landscaped garden includes flower beds and sensory areas that residents can appreciate throughout the year.  On our large patio area, we enjoy summer BBQs right through to light gardening projects for our more ‘green fingered’ residents.

Most of our residents come from the nearby areas in Devon so to ensure they remain part of the local community, we encourage visits from local entertainers and groups, local schools and clergy.

We are always willing and happy to assist

We welcome residents who are looking for convalescent and respite care.  For those unsure how to fund their short or long-term stay with us, we have extensive experience in the processes and procedures around funding and are happy to assist you on a totally confidential basis.

Our History

Situated on the edge of Brixham, Hill House is surrounded by history; the old part of the building is 700 years old and boasts unique single rooms with low beamed ceilings, ornate leaded windows and an original inglenook fireplace in the lounge.  This is complemented by the new purpose built side of the home that offers single rooms with en-suite shower/ wet room facility and a modern lounge overlooking the local church.
